Summary
Connect your Google Analytics data with Campaign Insights to see the complete journey from ad click to website conversion. This article explains how to view Google Analytics metrics alongside your Meta advertising data, understand what each metric means, and use these insights to optimize campaign performance.
How It Works
Campaign Insights integrates with Google Analytics to display website behavior metrics directly within your campaign dashboard. When users click your ads and visit your site, GA tracks behavior such as session count, bounce rate, time on site, and conversions. These appear alongside your Meta performance data for a fuller understanding of results.
The integration relies on UTM parameters to match Meta ads with GA sessions, allowing you to measure what happens after the click.

Use Cases or Common Problems
High click-through rate, low GA sessions: If Meta shows clicks but GA doesn't show sessions, investigate page load speed, tracking setup, or blocked scripts.
Conversion mismatch between Meta and GA: Meta and GA use different attribution models. Expect differences, especially for conversions.
Measuring post-click behavior: Use GA metrics like Pages/Session and Session Duration to evaluate landing page engagement.
FAQs
Q: Why don't Meta clicks match GA sessions?
A: Causes may include session expiration, repeated clicks counted as one session, or tracking issues. Differences are normal.
Q: Can I see historical GA data?
A: You can view historical GA data even if your GA account was connected to Hunch later. As long as UTM tracking was active and GA was collecting data, Campaign Insights can retrieve and display it retroactively.
Q: Is GA data real-time?
A: Hunch displays the latest available GA data, though slight delays may occur.
Q: Which GA goals are visible?
A: All active goals from the connected property are available. Ecommerce data appears automatically if enabled.
Can I use GA4 properties?
A: Campaign Insights supports both Universal Analytics and GA4 properties. The available metrics may vary slightly between versions. Ensure you select the correct property type during integration setup.
