Dynamic Media Catalogs are automatically created when templates are published in Hunch. Over time, many unused catalogs may accumulate. To keep your environment clean and manageable you can now delete unused Dynamic Media Catalogs.
This article explains how to delete a catalog, what restrictions apply, and what happens after deletion.
1. When Can a Catalog Be Deleted?
A Dynamic Media Catalog can only be deleted if it is not actively used in any campaign or ad.
If templates inside a catalog are still in use, deletion is blocked until those campaigns or ads are paused or removed.
Once deleted, the catalog is also removed on Meta.
2. How to Delete a Catalog
Navigate to the Platform Catalogs page in Hunch.
Locate the Dynamic Media Catalog you want to remove.
Select Delete from the catalog actions menu.
A confirmation modal appears (see image above).
If the catalog is unused → you’ll see a warning about consequences.
If the catalog is actively used → deletion is blocked, and you’ll see an “Unable to Delete” message.
3. Consequences of Deletion
Campaign impact: Any campaign or ad relying on this catalog will not be able to start running again.
Template usage:
Deleting a catalog clears all associated usage data from that catalog.
Ads that used those templates through the deleted catalog will no longer count toward template usage metrics.
Catalog performance: The catalog is also deleted from Meta, meaning any performance learning acquired by the catalog is also lost.
Future use: To reuse templates from a deleted catalog, you need to publish the template again.
