Summary

Hunch Status shows you exactly where each campaign, ad set, or ad is in its lifecycle , from draft creation to publishing to Meta. This helps you track which entities have unpublished changes, what’s live on Meta, and what’s still being prepared — giving you full visibility into your campaign workflow.

How It Works

Hunch Status reflects the state of an entity (campaign, ad set, or ad) in Hunch, independent from its Meta delivery status (Active/Paused), but still accurately reflects the expected lifecycle state.

Each entity progresses through the following statuses:

  • Draft: Created in Hunch but never published. Only visible internally. No metrics will appear.

  • Publishing: Temporary state shown during publish. Changes are being pushed to Meta.

  • Published: Successfully synced with Meta and delivering (if also Active).

  • Published with Draft: Published on Meta, but contains saved changes in Hunch that are not yet pushed live. These may include content edits, new child items, or deletions.

  • Deleted: Previously published entity that has been removed from Meta. Remains in Hunch for historical reference.

Publishing is done at the campaign level — all ad sets and ads inside are published together. Metrics only accumulate once an entity is published.

Before You Begin

  • Drafts do not deliver or collect data

  • Publishing always applies to the entire campaign structure

Step-by-Step Instructions

Understanding Status Values

  1. Open your campaign table and locate the Status column

  2. You’ll see one of the following lifecycle states for each row:

  • Draft: Internal-only, editable state. No metrics shown.

  • Publishing: Active publishing operation. Shows a loading state.

  • Published: Live on Meta. Matches what Meta is running.

  • Published with Draft: Edits saved in Hunch that haven’t been published yet.

  • Deleted: Archived on Meta but preserved in Hunch.

Publishing New Campaigns

  1. Create a new campaign or structure in Hunch

  2. Its status starts as Draft

  3. Click Publish when ready

  4. Status changes to Publishing, then Published if successful

Editing Live Campaigns

  1. Select a Published campaign

  2. Make changes and Save as Draft

  3. Status becomes Published with Draft

  4. Options:

    • Click Publish to apply changes

    • Click Discard to remove draft edits

    • Continue editing to update the draft

Filtering by Hunch Status

  1. Use the Status filter dropdown in the table

  2. Filter by one or multiple lifecycle states (e.g., Published, Draft, Deleted). Note that 'Published with Draft' is included within the 'Published' filter.

  3. Helpful for finding:

    • Work in progress (Draft)

    • Entities needing action (Published with Draft)

    • Finalized/removed items (Deleted)

FAQs

Q: Do all entities in a campaign share the same status? A: No. Each entity (campaign, ad set, or ad) maintains its own Hunch Status. For example, a campaign may be Published while one of its ad sets has draft changes, resulting in a Published with Draft status.

Q: What if publishing fails? A: The entity will keep the state it attempted to reach, but with an error indicator. Your draft will be preserved for review and retry.

Q: Can I partially publish changes? A: No. Publishing is all-or-nothing per campaign. Drafts must be fully published together.

Q: How do I review draft changes? A: Open the campaign editor. Hunch shows the differences between the published version and your draft in overview.

Q: Can I reactivate a Deleted campaign? A: No. Deleted entities cannot be restored. You’ll need to recreate them manually.
