Upgrades in Hunch Light take effect right away. You're charged only for the part of the billing period that's left, and from the next period you pay the new price in full.
There are two kinds of upgrade: moving to a bigger bracket because your catalog grew, and switching from Enriched Feeds to Template Collections. For prices, see catalogvideo.ai.
Automatic bracket upgrades
Your plan price is based on the number of items ingested into your catalog. When that number grows past the top of your current bracket, Hunch Light moves you to the bracket that fits. You don't have to do anything.
This works the same way for Template Collections, Enriched Feeds, and the CPV add-on. Each is placed in the bracket that matches your item count.
The grace window
Catalogs sometimes spike for a short time, for example during an import or a seasonal drop. To avoid charging you for a temporary jump, there's a short grace window before an automatic upgrade commits:
One bracket over: the upgrade commits after 48 hours if your item count is still above your bracket.
More than one bracket over: the upgrade commits after 24 hours.
If your item count comes back within your bracket during the grace window, nothing changes. You can also confirm the upgrade yourself during the window if you'd rather not wait. [Confirm: where and how to confirm the upgrade, with UI labels]
What you're charged
Once the upgrade commits, the new bracket is active right away. You're charged the difference between your old and new bracket prices, prorated for the rest of the billing period.
For example, if half your billing period is left, you pay half of the price difference. At the start of your next period, you're billed the full price of the new bracket.
When CPV moves to a bigger bracket, you'll see this message in Hunch:
Your CPV has moved to a larger bracket because of the number of items ingested. You've been charged the prorated difference between your old and new CPV bracket for the rest of your current billing period.
If the upgrade payment fails
If the prorated charge for an automatic upgrade can't be collected, syncing pauses as soon as the payment fails. Contact our support team through the in-app chat or at [email protected], and we'll help you get syncing again. See Why is syncing paused?.
Switching from Enriched Feeds to Template Collections
You can have one plan at a time, so Template Collections replaces your Enriched Feeds plan. When you switch:
Template Collections is available right away. You can create template collections and publish ads with Connect Ads.
You're charged a prorated amount for the rest of the current billing period.
Paused template collections resume syncing on the next scheduled sync, if you had them before.
If you have more enriched feeds than Template Collections includes
Template Collections includes 2 enriched feeds per Hunch catalog, the same as Enriched Feeds. If a catalog already has more than that, you'll be asked whether you want to keep the extras as additional enriched feeds.
If you keep them, you're billed for the additional feeds starting from your next billing period, not immediately.
If you don't, the extra feeds keep working until the end of the current billing period.
When you switch, you'll see this message in Hunch:
Welcome to Template Collections — it's available now, and you've been charged a prorated amount for the rest of this billing period. If you have more enriched feeds than your new plan includes, you can pay for the extras as additional enriched feeds (billed starting next period, not now). If you choose not to, those extra feeds will stay active until the end of this billing period.
Common questions
Can I pick a bigger bracket in advance? No. Brackets always follow your actual item count, so you never pay for capacity you aren't using.
What if my catalog shrinks again after an upgrade? You keep the bigger bracket for the rest of the period you've paid for. If your item count is lower when the next period starts, you're moved down automatically. See How downgrades work.
Does an upgrade change my billing date? No. Prorated charges cover the remaining days of your current period, and your billing date stays the same.
