Downgrades in Hunch Light never take effect in the middle of a billing period. You've already paid for the current period, so you keep everything until it ends, and the change applies from the next one.
There are three kinds of downgrade: moving to a smaller bracket because your catalog shrank, reducing the number of enriched feeds, and switching from Template Collections to Enriched Feeds.
Automatic bracket downgrades
When a new billing period starts, Hunch Light checks your item count. If it's lower than the bracket you were on, your plan moves down to the bracket that matches. You don't need to do anything, and there's nothing to confirm.
This works the same way for Template Collections (with or without add-ons), Enriched Feeds, and the CPV add-on.
What changes and what doesn't
A smaller bracket is a price change, not a loss of features:
Your catalogs keep syncing and publishing continues as normal.
Nothing becomes view-only.
On Template Collections, Product Insights and CPV stay on. If you have CPV, its bracket also moves down to match your item count.
What you're charged
From the new period on, you're billed the lower bracket price. There's no credit for the period that just ended, because you had the higher bracket for all of it.
When your bracket moves down, you'll see this message in Hunch:
Your item count is now smaller than your previous plan bracket, so your plan has moved to the [new bracket] to match — starting this billing period. Your catalogs keep syncing as normal; you're simply on the lower price tier now.
Things to know
A dip during the period doesn't count. Only your item count at the start of a new period matters. If your catalog shrinks mid-period and grows back before the period ends, nothing changes.
Growing again works as usual. If you're moved down at the start of a period and your catalog grows later in that period, the normal automatic upgrade applies. See How upgrades work.
The lowest bracket is the floor. If your item count keeps dropping, you stay on the lowest bracket. Your plan is never turned off because your catalog got small. Ending a plan only happens if you cancel.
Reducing the number of enriched feeds
If you lower the number of enriched feeds on your plan:
Until the end of the billing period, all your existing enriched feeds keep syncing.
After the period ends, any Hunch catalog that has more enriched feeds than your new allowance (the 2 included per catalog, plus any additional feeds you keep) will have syncing paused for all of its enriched feeds, not only the extras.
Your feeds aren't deleted automatically. To resume syncing on that catalog, delete enough feeds to fit within your allowance, or add more enriched feeds in Admin settings. See Enriched feeds and Why is syncing paused?.
When you lower your number of enriched feeds, you'll see this message in Hunch:
Your current enriched feeds will keep syncing until the end of your billing period ([date]). After that, any Hunch catalog with more enriched feeds than your new plan allows will have all of its enriched feed syncing paused until you delete enough feeds to fit your plan.
Tip: Before your period ends, review each catalog and delete the feeds you no longer need, so syncing continues without a break.
Switching from Template Collections to Enriched Feeds
You can have one plan at a time, so Enriched Feeds replaces your Template Collections plan, and you leave the Template Collections features behind. Until the end of your billing period, everything keeps working as it does today. After that:
Product Insights and CPV stop, because add-ons are only available on Template Collections. Your Insights product sets and Smart Sets stay live with the products they last had, but they no longer update or sync.
Template collections stop syncing. Nothing is deleted in Hunch or Meta, and your ads keep running, but product data such as prices and availability stops updating and can go out of date. Paused collections can't be edited, but you can delete them. See Why is syncing paused?.
Template Collections and Connect Ads become view-only. You can still see your work, but you can't edit or create.
Your enriched feeds continue on the Enriched Feeds plan, which also includes 2 enriched feeds per Hunch catalog. Feeds lose their video, because CPV isn't available on Enriched Feeds.
You don't need to delete anything before moving. If you upgrade back to Template Collections later, your collections resume syncing on the next scheduled sync.
Watch your ads after the switch. If you can't come back to Template Collections soon, consider pausing ads that rely on your template collections, so they don't show out-of-date prices or stock.
If you claimed a catalog
If Hunch has taken over syncing a claimed catalog, the pause affects the whole catalog, not only your Hunch ads. Hunch removed the catalog's original sync schedule when it took over, so nothing updates it while Hunch is paused. To keep it up to date, replace its data source in Meta with your original feed or an enriched feed. See Why is syncing paused?.
Checking your enriched feed count
In Admin settings, you'll see whether your current number of enriched feeds fits the Enriched Feeds plan. If it does, you can choose to stop paying for additional enriched feeds from your next billing period.
When you switch, you'll see this message in Hunch:
Switching from Template Collections to Enriched Feeds will stop Product Insights and CPV, and your Template Collections and Connect Ads will become view-only and stop syncing until you upgrade again. Check Admin settings to confirm your enriched feed count fits your new plan — if it does, you can opt out of additional enriched feeds for your next billing period.
Common questions
Will I lose anything I've already created? No. Product sets, Smart Sets, and creative you've already made stay viewable, and nothing is deleted in Meta. What stops is creating new things, updating them, and syncing them.
Can I get a refund for the rest of the period? Downgrades don't come with a partial refund, because you keep full access to what you paid for until the period ends.
