Enriched feeds in Hunch Light

One template across your whole catalog, on Meta, Snapchat, TikTok, Pinterest and Reddit.

Written by Igor Simovic

An enriched feed applies one image template to every product in your catalog and puts the result in place of each product's main image. Any catalog ad that uses the feed shows your template automatically, on every platform it's connected to, without setting up anything at ad level.

Enriched feeds are available for Meta, Snapchat, TikTok, Pinterest and Reddit.

Enriched Feeds or Template Collections plan

Creating an enriched feed needs a plan. Both plans include 2 enriched feeds per Hunch catalog.

A free enriched feed in your allowance for this catalog

Each Hunch catalog includes 2 enriched feeds, plus any additional feeds you pay for.

Check and add more in Admin settings.

An image template

Every enriched feed uses exactly one image template.

CPV (optional)

Needed to add a video template, on Meta and TikTok only. CPV is only available on the Template Collections plan.

Which artboards each platform uses

Each platform takes different shapes. When you create a feed, you choose the artboards that platform supports.

Make sure your template has the artboards your platform needs before you create the feed. For TikTok video, your video template needs a Story artboard. For Pinterest, the 1000 × 1500 artboard fits the tall format Pinterest favours. For setting up artboards, see Multi Artboard Templates for Multiple Sizes.

Create an enriched feed

  1. Open the Hunch catalog you want to use.

  2. Go to [Confirm: section name] and select [Confirm: create button label].

  3. Choose the platform you're building the feed for. This sets which artboards you can pick and which fields the feed includes. It doesn't limit where you can use the feed.

  4. Choose your image template and, where the platform gives you a choice, the artboard.

  5. With CPV, on Meta or TikTok, choose a video template if you want one.

  6. Select [Confirm: create button label].

There's no draft stage. As soon as you create the feed, it's published and starts syncing.

Connect the feed to your platform

Hunch gives you a link to your enriched feed. To use it:

  1. Copy the feed link from Hunch. [Confirm: where the link is shown.]

  2. In the platform's catalog manager, either replace the data source of an existing catalog with the feed link (read the next section first), or create a new catalog using the feed link as its data source.

Using an enriched feed in an existing catalog

Every ad on that catalog will show your template. An enriched feed replaces each product's main image, so when you use it as the data source for an existing catalog, all ads from that catalog pick up the template. That includes ads you've been running for months, prospecting and retargeting alike.

Because the ads themselves aren't edited, this doesn't send them back into the learning phase. But the creative changes for all of them at once, so plan the switch.

Tip: If you only want the template in some ads, use a separate catalog for the enriched feed, or on Meta, use a template collection instead.

Your original image isn't kept in the feed. The enriched feed only carries the templated image. If you also need the original product images, keep them in a separate catalog.

It's not only ads. On Meta, Shops and anywhere else that uses the catalog's main image will show your template too. If you sell through Shops, use a separate catalog for the enriched feed.

Editing and removing

  • Editing the template updates every product on the next sync. Because every image changes, the whole catalog is updated. Meta and other platforms need time to fetch the new images.

  • The template can't be removed from a feed. A feed is defined by its image template. To use a different design, edit the template or create a new feed.

  • Deleting a feed is possible at any time, even while a catalog with delivering ads uses it. Nothing is deleted on the platform, but syncing fails wherever the feed is used: the platform can no longer fetch it, so product data in those ads stops updating. Before deleting a feed, check where it's used, and replace it as the catalog's data source first.

How many feeds you can have

Both plans include 2 enriched feeds per Hunch catalog. You can see your allowance, and add more, in Admin settings.

If you lower the number of enriched feeds and a catalog ends up with more feeds than your plan allows, all of that catalog's feeds pause at the end of your billing period. Delete feeds, or add more in Admin settings, to resume syncing. See Why is syncing paused?.

Syncing

Enriched feeds sync on the schedule set in your catalog's Settings (hourly, daily or weekly), and you can run a manual sync whenever you need one. Product changes are sent as updates, and editing the template updates the whole feed.

Set the platform's fetch schedule too. Each platform pulls your feed link on its own schedule, set in its catalog manager. Your ads only get updates once Hunch has synced and the platform has fetched the feed again. Set the platform to fetch on the same frequency as your Hunch sync, about 20–30 minutes after Hunch's scheduled sync, so it always picks up the latest version.

If your plan ends, your payment fails, or you go over your plan limits, your feeds stop syncing but stay on each platform. Prices and availability can go out of date. See Why is syncing paused?.

Troubleshooting

What you see

What to do

I can't create an enriched feed

Check your plan, and that this catalog hasn't used up its allowance. Add more in Admin settings.

I can't pick an artboard

The platform only supports certain shapes. See Which artboards each platform uses above. Make sure your template has that artboard.

I can't add a video

Video needs CPV, and it's only available for Meta and TikTok feeds.

All my ads changed design

The enriched feed replaced the main image for the whole catalog. This is expected. Use a separate catalog if you only want it in some ads.

My changes aren't showing in ads

Editing a template updates the whole feed. Wait for the sync to finish and for the platform to fetch the feed again. Check that the platform's fetch schedule runs after Hunch's sync.

A platform says it can't fetch my feed

The feed may have been deleted in Hunch. Replace the catalog's data source with another feed.

All feeds on a catalog are paused

The catalog has more feeds than your plan allows. Delete feeds or add more in Admin settings.

Common questions

Can I use more than one image template in a feed? No. Each enriched feed uses one image template. For several templates on Meta, use a template collection.

Can I swap the template for a different one? You can't remove the template from a feed. Edit the template, or create a new feed with another one.

Will my ads go back into the learning phase? No. The ads aren't edited. Only the images in the catalog change.

Can I use one enriched feed for several platforms? Yes, but it works best on the platform you built it for. The platform you choose when creating a feed sets its artboards and fields. Another platform can use the same feed, but it may reject fields or images it doesn't support. For the best results, create a separate feed for each platform. Check the artboards each platform uses if you do share one.
