This guide will help you set up your Hunch Catalog and get the most out of it for boosting performance. The process is divided into the following steps:

  1. Catalog Setup (Verticals, Country & Currency, Sync Schedule)

  2. Input Section

  3. Destination Details – Platform Catalogs

1. Catalog Setup

This section helps you configure the main settings that determine how your catalog will work with different platforms and features. It includes vertical selection, country and currency settings, and sync scheduling.

a) Verticals

Hunch supports all Meta verticals. The vertical selection is based on Meta’s categories, which means certain features may be limited on other channels depending on the vertical you select. Below is a table outlining vertical support across platforms:

Your vertical choice will dictate available features for enriched feeds and cross-platform functionality.

b) Country & Currency Setup

Ensure your catalog is set to the correct Country and Currency based on your ad region.

  • Currency: Determines the currency displayed on Meta ads.

  • Country: Controls the default currency in templates (modifiable within templates as needed).

For more on configuring currency fields, refer to this guide.

c) Sync Schedule

The Sync Schedule controls when your catalog syncs with the data feed.

Best Practices

  • Set Hunch sync to start after your internal feed finishes syncing.

💡 Example: If your feed syncs every hour at 0 minutes (e.g. 10:00) and takes 10-20 minutes, set the Hunch sync to run every hour at 25 minutes past (e.g. 10:25).

  • Avoid syncing more frequently than your feed updates. For instance, if your feed updates once daily, avoid syncing hourly to prevent unnecessary delays on Meta’s side.

Sync Options

  • Hourly: Sync every 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, or 12 hours, with a custom start time.

  • Daily: Set a specific sync time.

  • Weekly: Choose specific days and times.

If your data doesn’t change often, you can disable the sync schedule.

2. Input Section

In the Input Section, provide your data feed URL.

  • For password-protected feeds, enable Protected Source and enter the required credentials.

  • The feed name will default to the catalog name, but you can change it.

🚀 Upcoming Feature: Hunch will soon support supplementary feeds for added flexibility

If any fields are missing or unsupported, use rules to fix them. Learn more about applying rules HERE →.

3. Destination Details – Platform Catalogs

This section connects your Hunch catalog to advertising platforms like Meta.

Meta-Specific Setup

  • Business: Assign the catalog to a Meta Business account (this cannot be changed later).

  • Pixels: Choose which pixels to use across all catalogs linked to this Hunch catalog. You can add or replace pixels after catalog creation.

⚠️ You must complete Meta authorization before setting up destination details. If you haven’t authorized yet, set up the catalog first, then return to add platform details after completing authorization.
